Spinnin' in the Rain

b2ap3_thumbnail_uOz28Tx.jpg
This is job dedication incarnate. This devoted AArrow Sign Spinner was recently photographed spinning his sign in the midst of what looks to be a heavy rainstorm. He’s proudly wearing his red AArrow polo, printed courtesy of Rival Screen Printing. Although it’s raining in the photo, we can still clearly read the company’s name printed across the left chest, which speaks for the quality of our printing here at Rival. AArrow Sign Spinners are frequently shared via social media because of their spinning skills. They take sign spinning to a whole other level, often caught breakdancing or doing other kinds of...

Royals World Series T-Shirts Everywhere

Posted on
The Royals franchise spent the last two seasons coming in number one MLB wide in t-shirt and other team merchandise sales, and rightly so. When a Major League baseball team wins the pennant, and then later the World Series Championship, it always boosts not only spirits and morale in a city, but also revenues, citywide, and across several industries - t-shirts, apparel and merchandising are one of the first and foremost that benefit. How amazing was it for Kansas City Royals fans to see their home team go two years in a row to the World Series, the second time coming...

For the Jakie Robinson West All-Stars from Chicago, IL, t-shirts are more than something to wear to practice. The little league baseball team sold t-shirts to help family members pay for the trip to South Williamsport, Pennsylvania to support them at the Little League World Series. Fans came out in a big way, with the first batch of 500 shirts selling out at the local Dicks Sporting Goods prompting a second shipment. Over 600 fans attended the watch party for the first game, watching the All-Stars demolish their first opponent via jumbotron set up in Jackie Robinson Park. Chicago's own mayor,...

Rihanna Shows Her Favorite Metal Bands Some Love

Posted on
A t-shirt is worth a thousand words. That’s how the saying goes, right? In the music industry, t-shirts are an integral part of true fandom. Band shirts play a huge role in merchandise sales and in many cases, your purchase of their t-shirt probably bought them gas to get to the next gig. Band shirts are also a great way to display your music taste proudly and openly, even when others might be surprised by your choices. Metal band Judas Priest proudly posted a photo to their Facebook page of singer Rihanna wearing one of their T-shirts. “Happy to see Rihanna...

Mug Shot T-shirt

Posted on
Most custom t-shirts are made to commemorate something positive: to cheer on a marathon-running relative, celebrate a bachelorette party or publicize a community event. Some people like to express themselves (and their poor actions) through their custom t-shirt designs. A drunk driver in Maine immortalized his mugshot on a t-shirt and then wore the shirt in the booking photo for his two-day jail stint. Robert Burt of Pittsfield, Maine was sentenced to 48 hours in jail after driving under the influence in June. His coworker had the mugshot photo printed on a bright orange t-shirt, which Burt proudly wore when he...

Here’s the thing: there’s lots of print shops out there. There are also a lot of ways to make a custom t-shirt. But I have to say, if you make the wrong choice, the longevity and quality of your shirt is at stake. I’ve been thinking back to some shirts I’ve needed in the past, and, in retrospect, I really wish I would have known about Rival Screen Printing at the time. I’ll give you a couple examples. Roseanne. In my opinion, probably the best sitcom of all time. At least in the top five. My best friend agrees. In fact,...

Ikea is Coming to Kansas City!

Posted on
You’ve probably already heard the news, but I still have to share my excitement. Kansas City is getting an Ikea store!!! If this doesn’t make you want to squeal, then you’ve obviously never witnessed the glory of the Swedish home furnishings mega-plex. I could spend days in the place, getting lost in the sea of sleek-and-modern-yet-affordable furniture, pillows, comforters, accessories, and of course- kitchen gadgets. It really is a sight to behold. You want to know what the best part of it is? It is slated to open THIS FALL. Yeah, this fall: 2014. That’s in, like, FOUR MONTHS. You can’t...

Throughout its history, television has provided us with several iconic characters that are nearly inseparable from the culture at large. Everybody has their own favorites, but there's no denying that certain TV personalities have become cemented into the very fabric of the medium (for better and most certainly for worse). With that in mind, here a few iconic characters, as well as a few t-shirt ideas you can use should you find yourself wanting to proclaim your love (or abhorrence) of them to the world. 1. George Costanza: One could argue that any of the main characters from Seinfeld could be...

What Would People From Other Planets Wear?

Posted on

I would assume not, but we here figured it would be a fun way to show you all the different ways Rival Screen Printing can be designed to suit your needs. So without further ado, may we present the Solar System of Rival Apparel. Mercury: As most of you should probably know by now, Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Given that...

Remember T-Shirts From Movies

Posted on
b2ap3_thumbnail_jprdick.jpg
Aside from your period pieces and standard costume dramas, wardrobe is an oft overlooked aspect of many films. With a few exceptions, everybody has to wear clothes, right? We here at Rival Screen Printing, in addition to being fans of high quality t-shirts, also like to identify ourselves as film buffs. That said, we thought we would bring you a (admittedly less than all inclusive and in no particular order) list of five of the most recognizable t-shirts in film. 5. Napoleon Dynamite's “Vote for Pedro” If you're like me, if you never heard another person quote this movie again it...

Worlds Biggest T-Shirt & The Largest T-Shirt Cannon

Posted on
b2ap3_thumbnail_worlds-bigest-t-shirt.jpg
Here at Rival we screen print a wide range of t-shirt sizes, from XS all the way to XXL, but even we would have trouble getting a design onto this. Behold, the world's largest t-shirt, unveiled at the 40th annual CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee. This shirt was later recycled to make 12,000 new shirts which were donated to Nashville school music programs. Looks like this shirt is far too large to be fired out of the world's largest t-shirt cannon, pictured below. “Big Bella”, the name given to this monstrosity, was unveiled by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012. It...

Most T-Shirts Worn At Once

Posted on

It can be difficult to decide what to wear in the morning. Some days it may be hard to pick between two shirts, so perhaps you wear both (ideal for cold days). However, Sri Lankan native Sanath Bandara seems to be very indecisive. In 2011 he broke the Guinness World Record for number of t-shirts worn at once with an impressive 257 tees on his shoulders! That's 102 more t-shirts than the guy in this video is wearing!! Congratulations Sanath! Rival Screen Printing salutes you!
